The news on microblogs are sometimes ahead of the major news media. It is very interesting to provide rapid cross-lingual data access for the huge number of multilingual users on microblogs. However, microblog content is quite different from the traditional textual data. Some of the shortcomings of the microblogs include informal usage of language , poor spelling and grammatical quality as well as the inclusion of symbols and diacritics.
